CAN-IF Fund

The CAN-IF Fund:  Book sales support The Women’s Center of Waukesha, WI

Vivian knows what it’s like to raise children after a divorce. Working AND childcare can be an incredible challenge with little time for a mother’s selfcare.

Once she got on her feet financially, Vivian wanted to give back to the group that helped her get there. She created The CAN-IF Fund.

CAN-IF stands for Childcare Aid Nurtures Independent Families. In other words, a woman can do both IF she has the necessary support.

The CAN-IF Fund has been held by the Waukesha Wisconsin Community Foundation for over fifteen years and is endowed to The WOMEN’S Center in Waukesha, where Vivian found her way into a working life. Starting a job at little more than minimum wage, Vivian eventually found national success in her own consulting business. (Still functioning as TheoPRO, although Vivian has retired).

Proceeds from Vivian’s book sales are shared with The Women’s Center, where Probst was their keynote speaker in 2014.

She says, “The biggest obstacle for a woman’s success in business is being the primary caregiver to her children. That’s why I created this fund.

“I was lucky because my ex-husband loved and cared for our children as well. While it was difficult to share, I felt fortunate because most women are left to care for the children alone.”
